OK so now I'm being retarded
I wana muzzle brake. Anyone have experience with any thing other than Birdcage type on AR's? Anyone know what the going rate is to have a barrel threaded for one? Thanks in advance for input. http://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPRE-9 What do you think? And ya I know it's only a .223

We have a guy here that would put them on it the winter time when thins got slow. He put 4 on for me on my 30/06's and a 7mag. They are really super. He used to charge $100 to make the break and put it on. You can go from $100 to $500. When you have it done make sure you have it dne by a reliable gunsmith. They do make a large difference.

Your AR barrel not threaded? Should be 1/2"x 28 pitch, even if it is a postban type with pinned on front flash hider it should still have intact threads under the brake. I did one like that, took a junk pinned on brake off to put a flash hider on. (The brake was a bad design, they tried to make it look like an A2) They also make a pin on thread adapter for a non threaded barrel, to thread on a flash hider or break, quick and dirty way to do it.

Not threaded. It's almost an inch of solid stainless. No flash suppressor at all.
