I would take a phone bill or utility bill along as well to show your address. That will show that you actually live in VA.

you'll need to give your prints and fill out an app. it'll be good for 5 years. you have to be a va resident or get a non-resident permit. in your situation stay with tx residency for tax purposes and get a non-resident fla permit, it's good in va and 29 other states.
